LIMITED EDITION VS Art Print (OPEN EDITION PRINT)
What is AN "OPEN EDITION" Print?
Open edition prints are representations of my art that I will make available without any limitations. They come in several sizes and, because there is no limit to the number or reproductions that can be made, an open edition print is priced substantially lower than a limited edition print.
Are "Open Edition" prints collectable?
Not particularly, because these prints may potentially circulate in large numbers. There will likely always be one available on the market for purchase. An open edition prints primary function is to make artwork accessible at a fraction of the cost of the original work of art. Open editions are meant to enhance your interior, adding a touch of style to your space or simply to reflect your taste in art.
What is A "Limited Edition" Print?
Limited edition prints are either original works (meaning they were created exclusively in a specific print medium by the artist) or are limited production runs of already existing artwork produced in collaboration with the artist. These prints are usually created in "Editions" and are often signed and numbered by the artist. Limited edition prints are usually exceptional in quality, and far superior to "Open Edition" prints. Limited edition prints are printed on museum grade archival paper (100% acid free, cotton rag) and are meticulously printed with the highest quality inks to show the original work of art with all inherent detail.
Are "Limited Edition" Prints collectible?
Absolutely. The exclusive nature of a limited edition print effectively raises its value and, therefore, its price. Although there are many factors to consider (i.e. artist's notoriety, historical value, edition size, signed or unsigned, demand and popularity of the specific work of art being reproduced etc.) Because they are limited to a certain number and can never be duplicated again in the same capacity. They are often prized and sought after by collectors and art lovers alike.
What does this certificate of authenticity mean?
Every limited edition print will be delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity. This certificate documents the size of the edition, the archival materials used, print number, authentication date, title and artist. Certificates are signed by artist Wu Lan-Chiann to ensure their authenticity.
How is my order packaged?
For Art Prints:
Our professional printers are experts at shipping, so rest assured that your order will be professionally wrapped and packed for safe shipping.
For Limited Edition Prints, and original Paintings and Drawings:
These will be packaged and shipped from Wu Lan-Chiann's Tranquil Studio. We take great care to ensure that your artwork is carefully packaged so that it arrives in the same mint condition as when it left our studio. Limited Edition Prints and Drawings that are smaller than 18 x 22 inches are shipped in heavy-duty reinforced flat packages. Larger-mounted pieces are shipped in tubes. Framed drawings and paintings are packed in special custom-reinforced cardboard boxes, which are designed for shipping art with interior foam protection and additional padding. Shipping crates may be requested at cost price.
When will I receive my order?
For Art Prints:
We do our best to ensure that your order arrives in a timely manner. In general, most open edition print (and frame) orders are processed, produced and shipped within 5 business days and typically arrive in 7-10 business day.
* Note: Due to the current situation with COVID-19, printing and production times are running longer than normal. Currently, production on all products is running as long as 12 business days.
For Limited Edition Prints, Paintings and Drawings:
Your artwork will ship out directly from Wu Lan-Chiann's Tranquil Studio. It will be shipped within 7 business days of your purchase. Your artwork will ship via UPS or FedEx and will require direct signature. You will receive a tracking number for your order once it is shipped.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! International Orders may be subject to local import taxes or Tariffs,. If taxes, duties, brokerage fees or tariffs are imposed by a destination country, then our customers will be responsible for those. The carrier will call ahead to collect taxes and duties.
How Much Does The Shipping Cost?
Shipping is free for purchases over $100 within the continental US! If Shipping options are not available for your country at the check out cart, then please contact us here
Non-US clients will be responsible for paying all applicable taxes and duty upon receipt of their artwork. We will choose the most cost-effective shipping carrier based on the items ordered and on their destination. The shipping p[rice is calculated based on weight, dimensions, and destination.
What Are my payment options?
We accept all major credit cards for payment online, as well as PayPal and Stripe.
What is your Policy on Returns/Exchanges/Refunds?
Art Prints and Limited Edition Prints
We strive to provide you with a very clear picture of what you will be getting. You have the ability to zoom into images, and use features such as Wall Preview, and even Live Preview AR throughout this website. With these preview options, you can be confident in making the right choice and, therefore, all sales are final. Exceptions are made for any damage that occurred during shipping. Please contact us and we will make arrangements for you to return the print for a replacement. For a replacement, please contact us here
Paintings and Drawings
Paintings and drawings are shipped from Wu Lan-Chiann's Tranquil Studio with full insurance. If the artwork arrives in a different condition as when it leaves our studio, then you may return it for a full refund.
* Note: Refunds will only be issued after we have received and inspected the damaged work.
What is my order arrived damaged?
We will do everything we can to make sure your order arrives safely. However, things can sometimes happen in transit and we will deal with this on a case by case basis. If your artwork was damaged during transportation, please contact us immediately to let us know. If you received a damaged package, please photograph it from different angles before you open it. You may then open it and see if the artwork has been damaged. If the artwork is damaged, please make further photographs and send them to us.
Please keep all the packaging materials for insurance purposes. If you have not contact us within 7 days after you receive the artwork. Wu Lan-Chiann's Tranquil Studio cannot accept responsibility for artwork that has arrived damaged.
*Note: Every work of art is photographed before and after it is packaged and before it is sent to you, for insurance purpose. All of Wu Lan-Chiann's artworks are insured during transportation.
Is your Site Actually secure?
While looking though the site you may notice that there is a security assurance icon in the footer yet the information in your browser URL bar may state differently. This is because the main site is not collecting any of your information. However, once you get to into the CART SYSTEM where you are required to input your details you will notice the cart is secure and the icon in your URL bar will be then a lock representing a secure page.
How Do I use The Live Image Preview?
The Live Preview Tool (augmented reality) on our website allows you to use your phone or tablet to see how Wu Lan-Chiann's art will look on your walls. There's no app to install. You will need to use a mobile device with a current browser. Pull up our website on your mobile device and navigate to the image that you are interested in previewing, and click on the " Live Preview" button. Our website will launch your camera from within your internet browser and superimpose the artwork onto whatever you have your phone pointed at. It is best to stand 10-12 feet from the wall where you want to see the art, and face it straight on. You can change the artwork's position just by moving the phone, and you can choose sizes with the pull down menu at the bottom of the screen. The ability to launch a camera right from the browser is currently supported by the latest version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox. and Opera, in both their PC and Android versions. If you have an Apple device, you must use Apple's Safari browser, version 11 and higher.
ArE The Print Framed?
Art Prints
No, the prints are not framed, but we offer several options:
1. You can order just the print and mount and frame it yourself.
2. You can order the print with Gatorfoam backing to make framing easier.
3. If you choose the option of Gatorfoam with mounting blocks, your print will arrive ready to hang. There will be two Gatorfoam blocks mounted to the back for hanging the print and make it float about a half inch off your wall.
4. If you choose the option of framed print. You can choose your favorite frame with or without a mat. The framed print will be directly shipped to your home.
