I am passionate about painting the world around me. When I was about five years old, I knew that I wanted to become an
artist. From as early as I can remember, I have viewed the world as if I was looking through a window; I was, and perhaps still am,
quite unique in how I observe life.

To me art is a universal language that people understand across time and place. I explore universal values that connect us as one, no matter where we are. At the core of my work I paint what I feel not what I see. It is a spiritual experience, and my painting becomes an extension of self; a reflection of my innermost world.
Throughout my study in fine arts, I worked with different paint mediums. However, I discovered that I have an umbilical connection with ink painting. Chinese brushes, ink, and paper give me the ability to create works that have soul. To me it is similar to poetry, which has deeper meaning beyond the beauty of the words.
I received the traditional Chinese ink painting training in Taipei, Taiwan and I earned a Master of Art in the New York University. While my art originated in the ink painting tradition, I combine Western and Eastern expression of representation into my work and developed an authentic style with contemporary ink painting. I also bring Chinese and Western poetry into my ink paintings and devote my work to promoting universal humanistic values that span different cultures, time, and space.
My work has been collected in Australia, Europe, Asia, and North America. In 2019, one of my recent paintings Before the Storm was acquired by the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2020, one of my early paintings Old Street in Sanxia entered the collection of the Princeton Art Museum in Princeton, New Jersey. Most recently, in 2022, my painting Snowflakes Quietly Descending entered the collection of the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, Canada.
